Property Description
25hours Hotel at MuseumsQuartier is centrally located in Vienna’s 7th district and displays a nonchalant, atmospheric mix of allusions to the circus and the fantastic world of dreams and sensations under the big top. The hotel was developed in two stages; by March 2011 the 25hours suites were completed, perfectly equipped for layovers of several days. Since April 2013 the laid-back 185 standard rooms completed the hotel experience for PDA tamers, work-life jugglers and other acrobats. In addition to the rooftop bar Dachboden, the 25hours living room, a wellness-/ fitness area, meeting facilities and a generous restaurant with terrace to the park have been opened. No matter where you go, all Vienna is a stage. Think Prater, Museumsquartier, Schönbrunn, opera or Life Ball. For 25hours, the circus stands as a symbol for show and shine. The travelling company brings acrobatics, exotic animals, clowns and music to town and inspires the interior design of Vienna’s new design hotel. Circus can be surreal, surprising, sexy, fantastic or exotic and – like many of the hotels residents – is constantly on the move. Temporary character, traditional craft and art are key elements and interpreted in the hotel. Expect improvisation, contradictions and eclecticism; sawdust hits heavy velvet curtains, raw concrete meets thick carpets. The design of 25hours Hotel Wien is inspired by the golden age of the circus at the beginning of the 20th century. Carefully chosen antiques of the period are skillfully combined with memorabilia from the ring. Individual bespoke designs of Armin Fischer (dreimeta) complete the classic style which consciously bypasses current trends and fashionable designer brands. Eyecatcher and central design elements in the suites and rooms are wallpapers with exclusive illustrations created by artist Olaf Hajek. In harmony with the soft colorful scheme of the guest rooms the Berlin based illustrator created circus scenes in which – characteristic of Hajek – fantasy and reality, space and time seem to blur. The concept for the interior design has been developed by Armin Fischer and his dreimeta team from Augsburg. Fischer was already involved in the creation of 25hours Hotel No. 1 in Hamburg. The architecture of the prominent building overlooking Weghuberpark, which symbiotically completes an existing structure with a distinctive annex, was created by BWM Architekten und Partner from Vienna.
