Property Description

The historic nature of the Atholl Palace Hotel means that every room is unique, with quirky original features, however, the truly outstanding feature of almost all our rooms is the view. Every bedroom is furnished to the highest standards with more than just the comforts of home. Each bedroom is fully equipped with Wi-Fi, an LCD TV, hot beverages, Arran Aromatics toiletries, telephone, hairdryers, and trouser press. A lift serves the main floors although some rooms are accessed from the entresol levels which are not. Guests enjoy full access to our Lavender Spa Swimming Pool, Sauna, Steam Room, Plunge Pool, and Jacuzzi; Snooker Table, Tennis courts, Pitch ‘n Putt and Putting Green. There is ample free car parking on-site.Located in the Atholl Palace Hotel set in the Perthshire Highlands, we have created the Lavender Spa which enjoys spectacular views of the Scottish countryside. Our spa draws on its heritage as a Victorian health hydro using the powers of our natural spring water which comes from the mountain of Ben- y -Vrackie which stands over Pitlochry. These waters are used as a tonic and are unique to the Atholl Palace as is the fresh Highland air. A perfect retreat, the spa combines hands on treatments and relaxation in our thermal rooms and spa pools. The Atholl Palace Museum, set in the old servant's wing of the Atholl Palace Hotel, charts the history of the hotel from when it first opened as a Hydropathic establishment in 1878 through to its re-opening after World War II and beyond. There are tales of bankruptcy, colourful entrepreneurs, Victorian servant's, unusual and torturous spa treatments, renovations, and war time evacuees turning hotel to school. The Verandah Restaurant is famed for its stunning views over the Tummel Valley. In the morning daylight plays on the crisp linen and sparkling tableware, in the evening sun sets fill the space with a warm glow. Every season adds its own dramatic twist to this spectacular landscape. A growing reputation for the quality of the cuisine is now established, using the very best of local and Perthshire produce, to create a choice of menus full of game and fish specialities from Scotland’s larder. We are open throughout the day offering wholesome lunches and traditional afternoon teas " with a view" in elegant surroundings. In the Stag's Head bar, delicious evening suppers are served whilst you contemplate our wide range of malt whiskies - by the open fire in Winter!Conference and meetings within the stunning backdrop of Perthshire. Located just over an hour away from Edinburgh, and in the heart of Perthshire, Atholl Palace hotel offers first class event services. Choosing the right venue for your next event is incredibly important. You’ll want assurances that your personal event planner understands your needs, can offer flexibility and wants the event to run as flawlessly as you do. In our circular Atholl Suite, natural daylight and 360 degree views over oak woodland create an atmosphere which is hard to rival. Built in AV Equipment and a separate AV room allow us to host international conferences, product launches and national awards ceremonies. For smaller seminars, our Bow Lounge – with original fixtures and fittings – really adds grandeur to any event. Holding up to 140, this suite is perfect for seminars, exhibitions and presentations. With exclusive use of an adjacent beautiful roof-top garden, let us impress your delegates with an al fresco BBQ lunch or even champagne closing drinks as the sun sets over the Tummel valley.Recreating the glorious gardens that were part of the original vision for the Atholl Palace has been a particularly important part of our work on the hotel. Our gardeners' hard work and imaginative planting has been rewarded with several prizes from the Pitlochry in Bloom Competition over the last few years. The gardens have been developed with walkways and seats to encourage all, both hotel guests and day visitors,to relax and enjoy the abundant wildlife. The remarkable specimen trees, planted as the hotel was being built from 1874, have been described as "an undiscovered arboretum", and are part of Perthshire's Big Tree Country. The formal gardens, at the front of the Hotel, are a constant blaze of colour throughout the summer. They are an ideal setting for photographs, a quiet drink or a romantic stroll down lovers lane.
