The hotel was renovated in 2009. They have 60 guest rooms and have all interior entrances. The golden color tones are pretty, and there is a mix of some traditional and contemporary designs throughout the lobby. A deluxe continental breakfast buffet is included in the rate. The rooms are nicely appointed and a mini refrigerator, microwave, iron, ironing board and wall mounted hair dryer. They are spacious and each room has a cushioned window seat. The rooms appeared to be clean. The hotel does not have a swimming pool. Outside and deck parking available. They are centrally located in Lake Norman off I-77 at Exit 28. Access to the interestate is easy and the traffic flow was minimal. There are restaurants and shopping within walking distance. It is about a 10 minute drive to Birkdale Village and Northlake Mall shopping.
