Heartland Inn provides clean, comfortable,friendly and safe lodging close to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Complimentary breakfast and dinner are much appreciated as well as the shuttle. It's convenient and saves costly parking fees at the hospital and clinics. They also offer discounted rooms for patients and family. I highly recommend!

Nice place. Clean and tidy. Beds are comfortable. The Continental breakfast was yummy with lots of variety. The staff was very nice. Price was a little higher than what I've paid for comparable hotels in the past and I wish the beds had more pillows, but otherwise, I'd definitely stay here again if I were ever back in the area. Good proximity to restaurants, hospital (with complimentary shuttle service), gas stations and shopping.

Do not book your room based off the pictures and room amenities, much of the information is incorrect. Pictures of whirlpool tubs in all rooms, this is not the case; there are microwaves and refrigerators in the rooms, not shared micros/fridges. I would suggest calling and talking to a live person to book your room, not Edward, the AI robot that you reach initially when calling.

"Not the room I reserved."

I called and reserved a room on the main floor with the hot tub and got here and they didn’t have the room I reserved! Then they were going to put me on the 3rd floor when I requested a main floor room because I use oxygen! So I got a room on the main floor but then my grandson who’s 9 wanted to go swimming and we got to the pool area to see a note on the door saying that the pool is closed until further notice and neither of the employees sitting behind the desk told me that the pool was closed so walked all the way to the pool and back to my room and then I checked my oxygen and it was 84 and it’s not healthy to be below 90 so I’m not happy about this situation.
