Just north of Milan, facing the most romantic lake in the world, Hotel Barchetta Excelsior is located in the heart of Como. This elegant lake-town is surrounded by green hills and has a mild climate throughout the year. Being the silk capital, Como features plenty of fashionable boutiques. The Hotel Barchetta Excelsior is a member of Villa d’Este Hotels and has a dominant position located within the main piazza, Piazza Cavour on the lakefront. It was built in 1893 and quickly became the most important hotel in town, as well as a meeting point of the local aristocrats.There are 84 rooms, 80 of which are twin or double bedded. The are also three junior suites and one suite. Most rooms face the lake and feature sound-proof system, air conditioning, satellite TV, pay per view movies, radios, and mini-bars.
