"Welcoming"
Overall Score5.0/ 5
I have stayed in the Cheshire many times over the years. The staff is always courteous and professional, as well as helpful whenever special assistance is needed. It is a great value for the price and I always enjoy staying there.

"It’s a themed hotel."
Overall Score3.0/ 5
It’s a British/ English themed hotel, but it’s very old and needs updating. Our leather headboard had numerous spits where the faux leather was scratched off. The bathroom woodwork and door needed cleaned and painted. The mattress, well that was the worst, butt hole from just being old I guess, would not stay there again for $ 300 per night.

Property Description
The Cheshire is a luxury hotel that stirs the imagination and warms the spirit. With an authentic British-inspired aesthetic, we offer a unique, personalized alternative to cookie-cutter branded hotels in St. Louis. Centrally located and close to Washington University and Forest Park, our hotel is the ideal business and social hub for travelers seeking something different.Guests arriving at the hotel are welcomed by charming Tudor architecture, lattice stained-glass windows and a British flag flapping over the entrance. The lobby features an English country manor-style décor with cozy touches like a massive stuffed bear and a hand-carved mantle framing a wood-burning stone fireplace. Eighteenth-century antiques, furnishings and fixtures are found throughout the hotel, and rooms and novelty suites are each named to honor the work of a famous British author, poet or playwright. Just off the lobby, the Fox & Hounds Tavern is a favorite gathering spot for hotel guests and St. Louis locals to enjoy a frosty pint, a bite to eat and a little good cheer.Seamlessly added contemporary updates lend the hotel a fresh boutique allure. The Clayton Courtyard features a chic pool area with cabanas and poolside food and drinks by the Fox & Hounds Tavern. Rooms are appointed with luxury amenities like flat-screen TVs, iPod docks and plush beds and duvets. Complimentary perks include breakfast, Wi-Fi and 24/7 coffee and tea service.
