"Elegant four star hotel is in the heart of the city."
Overall Score4.0/ 5
This elegant four star hotel is in the heart of the city – close to the Arts District, Rogers Arena, mall, library and fabulous restaurants. The beautiful River Valley is within walking distance. The elegant lobby with an adjacent business center and marketplace includes healthy food options for purchase. Wellness and healthy living are the recurring theme of the hotel which is also a great part of the menu of the Share Restaurant and Lobby Lounge. The warm and inviting ambiance offers a great option to enjoy the sumptuous buffet breakfast, quick lunch, Or nice dinner while watching an Oilers hockey game. The hotel boasts 416 spacious rooms and suites, offering views of the city. The décor in the rooms is elegantly done in brown and grey tones, creating a modern yet cozy atmosphere. One of the standout features of the rooms was the famous Westin Heavenly® beds, which provided an incredibly comfortable sleep. The work desk with ergonomic chairs was perfect for business travelers and I appreciated having a microwave, fridge and lounge chair for added convenience. The Keurig coffee machine and in room safe were also nice touches. The room included a large closet with a full length mirror and the bathroom was well equipped with a shower/tub combination, hair dryer and makeup mirror. These thoughtful amenities ensured that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. As a business traveler, the free high speed Internet access was essential and worked flawlessly throughout my stay. As the Westin is one of the few dog friendly hotels in town – you don’t have to leave your furry friend behind. As part of the wellness theme – you jog along a scenic route, take a swim in the nice pool with natural light, catch up on your workout in the well equipped fitness room with new equipment, or relax in the sauna. The hotel even will rent you workout gear. The hotel has the largest meeting and events space in downtown – with more than 15 possible seating layouts and more than 27,000 square feet of space. The vast ballroom can host 1,100 guests for a wedding and even as it is a very large venue the high end décor in brown tones and chandeliers make the venue warm, inviting and elegant. Being on a separate floor of the hotel makes this meeting area the perfect option for any type of event from business events and conferences to Mother’s Day brunch.
