On the road and in a hurry this morning, I attempted to book a Hampton Inn in downtown Fernandina Beach. I knew in advance that there were two Hampton Inns in Fernandina. Thinking I had selected the Hampton booking site I called a phone number for a Hampton Inn Fernandina. Wanting to be sure I had the correct hotel, I specifically asked if the man who answered the phone was at the hotel and that the Hampton was in downtown Fernandina. He answered yes to each question. Turns out he was with a third party booking site called Hotel Lodging, website reserve1.hotelguides.com. He proceeded to make a reservation for me at the other Frenandina Beach Hampton. I was told the reservation could not be canceled when I found out where it had been made. I did stay at the downtown Hampton. I have opened a file with the third party booking site, but it took a lot of calling to reach a live person. This is fraud.
The young lady that checked me in. Is excellent, friendly, polite. Can’t ask for more.
Room was excellent. Comfortable bed, convenient outlets and USB connections. Outstanding breakfast and afternoon happy hour.
Rooms are always clean, breakfast and cookies are always a plus and the staff is always amazing. I look forward to our stay every year.
We got home to a house that had flooded. We called at the last minute for us and two dogs. Really glad they had a room close to our house and we had a good night, with shower and breakfast. We were happy to be there.
